Sofia Kovalevskaya
from Genomic
12" x 16"
acrylic on canvas

Created as a gift, this canvas steps outside the main genomic sequence in both scale and tone. A close-up halftone image of a woman occupies the portrait band—direct, textured, and emotionally resonant. There’s no Tarot draw, no gesture toward randomness. Instead, the work feels intentional, personal, and quietly mathematical in its clarity.

The surrounding bands carry the genomic logic forward—chromatic gradients, schematic textures, and abstract overlays. But here, the system softens. Sofia Kovalevskaya becomes less about mutation and more about offering: a portrait not of ancestry, but of connection. A moment where the genomic framework bends toward intimacy.
